[fetchmail] Turning off SSL

Hi,

Is it possible to turn off SSL in fetchmail? I know I need to compile with
the --with-ssl option to enable it but what if I did enable it but for some
reasons the openssl libraries are missing. Is there a way to prevent
fetchmail to try and load the ssl libs at startup?
