[fetchmail] multidrop with mailinglist and e-mails with mixed cases

2003-02-26 08:08:43
Hi,

At the company where I work for, we are trying to replace some Miscrosoft
servers with Linux servers. At the moment we are trying to let fetchmail
work with Microsoft Exchange 5.5. We are succeeding with mixed results. When
a mail is addressed directly to person (Person name is in To: field), this
person receives the mail correctly. When a person has got a subscription on
a mailinglist, he/she does not receive the mailing because in the
headerfield stands for example "Undisclosed-Recipient" instead of his/her
e-mailaddress. When I look in the headersection of the e-mail I can discover
in the first Received header (not the one written by fetchmail) for who the
e-mail is, but fetchmail does not see/find this address. See also the
example below. In the example below x(_dot_)zhang(_at_)mycompany(_dot_)nl has a
subscription
on a mailinglist. x.zhang does not receive this mailing, instaed the
postmaster does. Does someone know a solution for this problem.

Sometimes the postmaster receives e-mails in which does not find anything
wrong except that the e-mailaddress is written in mixed case, for example:
"V(_dot_)Wijtzes(_at_)MyCompany(_dot_)nl". Does Fetchmail work correctly with
mixed cased
e-mailaddresses.

Thanks in advance for your help,
  Volker

We are using Mandrake 9.0 with Fetchmail 6.1.0-1.1

Our .fetchmailrc:
set syslog
set daemon 120
set postmaster postmaster(_at_)mycompany(_dot_)nl
poll pop3.demon.nl with proto POP3
localdomains mycompany.nl
user 'pop3user' there with password "xxxxxxxx" is "*" here options fetchall
pass8bits
smtphost mycompany_comm

When I look in de headersection of an e-mail I see the following (I have
only taken out the interesting parts. I have also altered some
e-mailaddresses):
Received: from localhost (192.168.0.1 [192.168.0.1]) by mycompany_comm with
SMTP (Microsoft Exchange Internet Mail Service Version 5.5.2650.21)
        id FT9QN16N; Wed, 26 Feb 2003 08:09:12 +0100
Received: from pop3.mail.nl.demon.net [194.159.73.25]
        by localhost with POP3 (fetchmail-6.1.0)
        for postmaster(_at_)mycompany(_dot_)nl (multi-drop); Wed, 26 Feb 2003

+0100 (CET)
Received: from punt-16.mail.nl.demon.net by mailstore for
