Hi
Well, some more information would be useful, like version of fetchmail
and details of your platform.
Mail-II ~ # fetchmail -V
This is fetchmail release 6.2.5+RPA+NTLM+SDPS+SSL+INET6+NLS
Fallback MDA: (none)
Linux Mail-II 2.6.10 #1 Sat Dec 25 19:29:25 SAST 2004 i686 Intel(R)
Linux 2.6.10 had a _VERY_ short life on my home computer, it broke
several things and felt unsmooth. Alsa non-functional (no sound) and
half a dozen other quirks.
Try 2.6.9 and see if that helps. If so, file a bug report against the
Linux kernel. Linux 2.6 unfortunately is more like hackers' playground
than a stable kernel. :-(
If you can reproduce the problem with older kernels such as 2.6.9 or
2.6.8, then please see if the software bumps into some limit, try strace
or something, check the MTA and DNS/resolver logs (perhaps some "DoS
protection" kicking in?), watch "top" if it leaks memory, watch "lsof"
if it leaks sockets.
Let us know what you find, and try to provide context for the error
message.
