Keep in mind that some ISPs may (reasonably) see that as abusive. It
would be far kinder to use IMAP with IDLE if the ISP supports it.

Does daemon mode allow for using ~/.fetchmailrc
I need a system where the users can add there own email accounts to
their .fetchmail file. Wouldn't fetchmail daemon run under 1 user
context (root, fetchmail, user1, user2 etc) and only process the one
.fetchmailrc file?
Each daemon would require it's own config file, but could run as an
individual user. I use that approach to poll multiple ISPs. Just
write a master startup script that steps through the user accounts
checking for ~<sid>/.fetchmailrc and if it exists starts a fetchmail
daemon, as that user, using that fetchmailrc.
Sweet that worked.
