I would be happy to have someone else adjust some of my spam filters for
me, as long as the results are good, but my experience with such things
is that they simply aren't as good as they need to be... to the point
where I had to simply turn some ISP-provided spam filters off (they were
more trouble than they were worth, and mis-categorized too many messages).
There are certainly lots of ISPs with crummy spam filters. But my
experience agrees with Chris.
When users are asking for knobs and dials on the spam filters, what it
really means is that the filters don't work. A couple of years ago I
visited a large cable ISP who told me that with their old filters they
were getting constant requests for customization, then they installed
new filters that worked better and the requests completely stopped.
