Zone boundaries are used with DNSSEC and that could potentially be of
use for applications. This applies that it can of use for other types
of applications as well even if we don't immediatly see it. But in
current DNS, zonecuts are not easily revealed eventhough bind does have function for guessing it (works almost 100% of the time) hidden deap inside the code - but it does mean that it could potentialy become function available as part of dns resolver library.
