See the RCFILE resource page in the documentation. It describes
the usage of resource variables and how max length can be
specified.
Note, the only place that a max length specification exists in
the default settings is in the MSGPGBEGIN resource when setting
the title element of the message page. If you are noticing
string pruning anywhere else, then it has been explicitly set
in a resource.
