Jeff,
It looks safe. I tried the following test...get an mbox file with
one message. Create a directory, place the mbox file in it
and touch "msg99999.html".
csf:/src/archive/m100k> ls -l
total 3
-rw-rw-r-- 1 csf users 2071 Oct 30 11:22 a_message
-rw-rw-r-- 1 csf users 0 Oct 30 11:38 msg99999.html
Run mhonarc and look at the directory again:
csf:/src/archive/m100k> mhonarc -quiet -add a_message && ls -l
total 9
-rw-rw-r-- 1 csf users 2071 Oct 30 11:22 a_message
-rw-rw-r-- 1 csf users 733 Oct 30 11:49 maillist.html
-rw-rw-r-- 1 csf users 3744 Oct 30 11:49 msg100000.html
-rw-rw-r-- 1 csf users 0 Oct 30 11:38 msg99999.html
-rw-rw-r-- 1 csf users 544 Oct 30 11:49 threads.html
:-)

Quick question:
MHonarc doesn't break when it hits 100k messages, right? I'm thinking
of the message filenames with 5 digits, and the liklihood that this
situation doesn't get tested much. I'm up to 88k messages for one of
my lists.
