Just watch this: if we plan to never have X.Y.Z, say it somewhere, so
that the various distros know that 1.4-1.5 is not a major upgrade...
(I have this problem with libpcap: many distros are still trying to
patch 0.8, because they think that the 1.0 breaks APIs, when in fact, we
just got tired of the meaningless leading 0.)
