the question is, of course, when to use local lock files?
since i'm not using a local lock file for the procmail folder,
am i in risk of desyncronized accesses to that folder?

PS: i'm using procmail for 3 days now (i needed a way to notify
my cell phone whenever a new mail arrives...).
