Is procmail known to be year 2000 compliant?
As far as I know, no.
A quick grep didn't turn up anything lethal for Y2K, though it did turn up
some type punning that is liable to blow chunks come 2038. But one thing
everyone involved seems to agree on is that procmail cannot be effectively
audited, its code is too ... dense.
I'm working on a procmail replacement; the driving motivation is to solve that
particular problem --- such a valuable core system utility should have an
implementation that can be easily and effectively audited, for Y2K problems as
well as security issues.
Has anyone out there run a test? Take a server and set the system
to 1/1/2000, and send it emails from a server set to 1/1/200.
