How is SPF faring against the Zafi.b virus.
IP range, but if the SPF records are set up properly (as is ours),
the IP used should not be authorized.
If the receiver blocks on SPF fail, and the published SPF records
marks the sender IP address as a fail, then it will not be delivered.
Please note, that specific viruses, worms, spam e-mails etc. are
outside the scope of SPF discussions. SPF only publishes policies for
a domain, and it's then up to the receiver to decide, whether to use
these policies and how to use them, depending on the domain name.
Currently, the most widespread use of SPF is to whitelist domains,
that are known to ensure, that viruses, worms and spam don't come
from their mailservers.
As long as people want to be able to receive e-mails from people that
don't publish SPF records, and as long as people want to be able to
receive e-mails from mailsystems that can potentially be infected by
viruses and worms, nothing can stop it entirely.
