I've been in a similar situation. In the end it is simple:
If you public an SPF record for watkins-home.com, that assumes you
are in control of the watkins-home.com mailservers. If a CNAME is
published for www.watkins-home.com pointing to watkins-home.com,
you are in control of both domains.
a) mail coming "from" user(_at_)www(_dot_)watkins-home(_dot_)com is being sent
from
a non-designated host: SPF will enable the receiver to flag it
as fraud.
b) mail coming from user(_at_)www(_dot_)watkins-home(_dot_)com is being sent
from a
server that is designated: look in your logs and kill, kill, kill.
