I think now would be a good time to close up this thread. I think everyone
has said what they want to say, and we're starting to get punchy and indulge
in some inappropriate characterizations and generalizations.
If someone would like to summarize the issue while taking everyones views into
account, I'm sure I can find a place to post the summary so we can all refer
to it. Meanwhile, let's take the thread off-list for now.
Everyone says that having power is a great responsibility. This is a lot
of bunk. Responsibility is when someone can blame you if something goes
wrong. When you have power you are surrounded by people whose job it is
to take the blame for your mistakes. If they're smart, that is.
