Oooooh, that old :-) Try upgrading to 5.8.3 (current). That might fix

Sounds like it's looking for the wrong thing. Hopefully the upgrade will
resolve this.

user fetchmail
pass PASSWD
poll server.domain
Looks simple enough, assuming that the account "fetchmail" exists on that
machine and holds all the email that you wish to retrieve.
