I'm using fetchmail in daemon mode since now (also used from crontab).
I redirect the logs in a log file. When I look into the logfile, I can see:

fetchmail: 5.8.5 querying pop.wanadoo.fr (protocol POP3) at Tue, 05 Jun
2001 16:31:21 +0200 (CEST)
...since I fetchmail from different e-mail mailboxes at my ISP at the same
time, with the same user here.
I didn't check what fetchmail does when run with debug, but I think it
could be interesting to have the user in the log line, no ?
