[fetchmail]Memory fault on all-numeric password

2001-06-15 07:19:09
Hi fetchmail friends,

Ran into a possible bug (perhaps known to you as it´s fairly obvious).

I have a fetchmailrc file attached where one account called
vince(_at_)klaverstijn(_dot_)nl has an all-numeric password. This results in an
immediate Memory fault when fetchmail is invoked.

Details:
S.u.S.E. Linux 6.2 with 2.2.10 kernel on Intel 486/66 with 32MB memory.
Fetchmail version 5.6.8 installed from fetchmail-5.6.8.tar.gz
Pop server is pop.euronet.nl. Welcome line: +OK QPOP (version 2.53) at gaia
starting.
Mail is forwarded to sendmail. Welcome line: 220 gatekeeper.klaverstijn.nl
ESMTP Sendmail 8.9.3/8.9.3;
Fetchmail invocation: /usr/local/bin/fetchmail --nokeep --syslog --daemon 720 &
I usualy run fetchmail as a daemon from ip-up but all command line options
yield the same effect.
The output from fetchmail -V is also attached.

Hope this helps improving fetchmail.

Regards,
Jan klaverstijn
