[fetchmail]spam double bounce with postfix

2001-06-27 09:45:04
Hello,

I'm trying to set up postfix and fetchmail to weed out spam and bounce
it back on my dial-up machine. I've got postfix working but fetchmail
seems to be misbehaving. The message it bounces back to the spammer
appears to come from
FETCHMAIL-DAEMON(_at_)localhost(_dot_)worldonline(_dot_)co(_dot_)uk,
whereas my domain is alkaid.worldonline.co.uk, and is frequently
rejected.

I've tried setting smtpaddress to this domain as suggested in the FAQ
but it doesn't make any difference. Is it possible to force fetchmail to
use a particular value for the hostname instead of localhost?

I don't know where it's getting the localhost value from - I resorted
to removing every single reference to localhost from the postconf list
and from the hosts file so I couldn't even telnet localhost, but it
didn't make any difference. Help!

          Thanks... Andrew.
