Will Renkel {QA1403} <renkel(_at_)cig(_dot_)mot(_dot_)com>:
Using release 5.9.0 I just found an changed situation
In previous versions if fetchmail running in daemon mode and you issued the
simple "fetchmail" command it awakened the daemon to cycle through
the fetchmailrc file
In this version I get no servers specified.

5.9.0 still works for me the same way.

I also see it will not allow access if the .fetchmailrc is permissions 640.
I question this as being a problem.
If I have a "group" login using fetchmail I believe I have a "controlled"
environment and fetchmail should work with that setting.

On older Unixes that put all ordinary users in a common group, I think
this might make it to esy for a minor misconfiguration to cause a
security leak.

Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies
to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule--and
both commonly succeed, and are right... The United States
has never developed an aristocracy really disinterested or an
intelligentsia really intelligent. Its history is simply a record
of vacillations between two gangs of frauds.
