How do I configure fetchmail to work with Microsoft's Secure Password
Authentication on MSN? (I'm not usnig the new webdav-based MSN Explorer
stuff, but the old POP3 service running at pop3.email.msn.com). I'm told by
various parties that fetchmail supports cram-md5 and ntlm and that the MSN
SPA is some combination of these. But I haven't been able to get fetchmail
configured to successfully authenticate to MSN. Any help would be
appreciated.
I checked the FAQ and it says you can't use fetchmail with MSN, but there is
also a reference to the "new" support for NTLM authentication that might
allow it to work. I've seen an anonymous post in some newsgroup suggesting
that someone hacked fetchmail to get it to work with MSN.
Does anyone know anything definitive? (And please don't flame me for using
MSN. I will soon drop my MSN account since I no longer use MSN as my ISP,
but I want to make sure that I've gotten anyone who used my MSN email
address weaned off before I close the account).
