There is a sync problem. Fetchmail thinks, the mail is completely
transferred and wants to delete it and quit. It aborts with this error
because it gets wrong answers to his pop3 commands.
Maybe your providers pop3-server is broken in that way that is does not
escape single dots. To confirm this, log in manually to the pop3 server
and retrieve the mail the next time you get such a mail:

# telnet mail.aculink.net 110
user your_username
pass your_password
retr msg_num
quit

Post the last few lines here again. If you see anywhere besides the the
last line of the msg a single dot, the problem is your provider.
