Detailed information follow. In few words, I configured fetchmail to pass
to Procmail. I first had it poll two pop servers: altern.org and
pop.laposte.net. This worked at once. I then added pop.free.fr. I did not
got email. I read the log file and it say:
fetchmail: fetchmail: getaddrinfo(pop.free.fr.pop3)
This does not match with what it did for the other servers where the line
was:
fetchmail: fetchmail: getaddrinfo(altern.org)
This is fetchmail release 6.1.2+IMAP-GSS+SSL+INET6
<---SNIP--->
Fetchmail will direct error mail to the postmaster.

Options for retrieving from francois(_dot_)granger(_at_)pop(_dot_)free(_dot_)fr:
True name of server is pop.free.fr.
Looks ok, despite what your getaddr shows.
What about "fetchmail -v -v"? You also probably want to upgrade to 6.2.0
first.
