[fetchmail] [PATCH] fetchmail does not escape starting dots in BSMTP

2003-06-08 14:47:19

Hi friends,

this is related to Debian bug #184469 [1]. Fetchmail does not escape
starting dots when writing to BSMTP. As RFC 821 says: "Before sending
a line of mail text the sender-SMTP checks the first character of the
line. If it is a period, one additional period is inserted at the
beginning of the line.". This misbehavior causes BSMTP to fail
afterwards.

Here is a patch that fix this issue.

Cheers,
Benjamin
