I'm using fetchmail for reading messages from a multi-drop box.
Fetchmail sending mails via sendmail to local users.
The cron fires the fetchmail, according to the crontab of a
regular user.
( Not root crontab. )
If there is a bad ( SPAM, virus etc. ) mail, fetchmail exits.
The output:
3 messages for ... at ...
reading message 1 of 3 .... flushed
reading message 2 of 3 fetchmail: SMTP error: 553 5.1.8
gobyl(_at_)b(_dot_)a(_dot_)(_dot_)(_dot_)
Domain of sender address gobyl(_at_)b(_dot_)a does not exist
gethostname failed for ...
Version of Fetchmail?
Contents of .fetchmailrc?
I'd suggest you upgrade to 6.2.5 and set 553 as one of the anti-spam
codes. The man page has details on the anti-spam code setting.
PLEASE - keep list traffic on the list. Email sent directly to me may
be ignored utterly.
