This message is a follow up to a thread from the other month started
by Mark Crispin. Mark and others (including myself) had pointed out
that the MIME support in the Lotus Notes SMTP gateway is broken.
Thanks to Ned Freed, I have a list below of known problems with the Notes
gateway. I'd like to send this list to Lotus at the end of this week (on
9/16). Please comment on the list so it can be as accurate and complete
as possible. If you've had problems with this product, please send me
the details!
List of known problems with the Lotus Notes SMTP gateway MIME support:
1. Failure to recognize the standard MIME encodings, especially 7bit.
2. Generation and use of illegal boundary marker strings.
3. Use of boundary marker strings that are unsafe because they could
easily appear in a message.
4. Failure to quote parameter values that require quoting.
