Yes, imc runs sendmail, which has inserted its own From header based on
the envelope From, wgich defeates the intent of the test.
So I shall try again with MAIL FROM:<> (I think sendmail will leave that
one alone).
So we have so far established that "From: <>" gets through to most people
(except Bruce, who claims he never received his) but we need more evidence
as to what systems allow completely absent Froms to pass through
unscathed.
