as I know, Sendmail is the only MTA that does this currently.
Exim allows you to control the SMTP conversation by configuring its
Access Control Lists, which allow you to make a variety of responses to
a given command based on almost any criteria you can think of. It's a
sysadmin-level configuration, not programmer-level, though there are
of course hooks of several kinds for when you need to drop into code.
Exim also has an API for content filtering between the . and the
response, and there are plugins for SpamAssassin and virus scanners.
