It's good to know that someone else is reading this with a fine-toothed
comb.

Assuming there are no objections, I would be happy to adopt your
proposed changes to section 4.  I believe that they are equivalent to
what I wrote for well-formed messages, but much more well-defined for
ill-formed messages.
