Exactly what flaws of PGP 5.x that manifest themselves as aspects of

message format are you referring to?
- uniqueness of key ID and fingerprint
As far as I understand it, it is impossible to guarantee a unique Key ID &
fingerprint, as they are hash's of the key material, which implies the
possibility of a hash collision, highly unlikely maybe, but still possible.
I would have thought the only way to guarantee key uniqueness was to have a
global issuing authority - something I'm not keen on.
