Hi,
According to the PSRL draft, the "action" element
contains the name of the service module (proxylet)
that is to be executed on the caching proxy (name of
the built-in proxy library function) or a dedicated
server(ICAP server). So, there are 2 possibilities,
either the proxylet is on a dedicated server or in a
built-in proxylet library.
But the person who sets the rule may want that, the
proxy download a proxylet from another server(a server
where he puts his own proxylets or a server which is
providing proxylets to be downloaded) specified in the
rule, store it in the proxy itself and execute the
cached proxylet when the corresponding rule is
triggered. The proxylet can have a expiry time-period
to tell the proxy when to download the proxylet from
the server.
eg:
<action><download>ftp:/freeproxylets.com/proxylet1
<expires>Thu, 01 Dec 2001 16:00:00 GMT
</expires></download></action>
That means now we can use downloaded proxylets, or
built-in library functions or use a dedicated server
for proxylet execution.
Any comments.
Thanks
Shuvendu
