RSA Data Security, Inc. will be hosting the fifth S/MIME Developer's
Workshop on September 10th, 1997 at the Airport Marriot in Burlingame,
California. (Directions/details to follow in a separate message.) This
meeting is open to all interested, please feel free to forward this
message to appropriate individuals/groups.
The meeting will nominally go from 9am to 4pm. Actual agenda will
follow sometime in the next week or so.
The significant topics to be discussed are:
- technical feedback on the current Internet Drafts
- getting gateways to DO THE RIGHT THING !!!
- progressing S/MIME within the IETF
- S/MIME compliance and interoperability test plans
- introduction of new features for next version of S/MIME
The last topic on new features will include some information about RSA
Labs revision of the underlying PKCS #7 standard as well as some
exciting work that is underway to evaluate the merging of S/MIME and MSP
(the Message Security Protocol used for government messaging).
If there is time in the afternoon, we may have a couple of
vendor/product presentations.
