Not at all. There may be no impact. My posting is
simply in response to many debates I've seen fly by
on algorithm support. I'm merely suggesting that the
technologists see if this has any impact. 
If there is none, then great.

Could you be a bit more explicit? What do you mean by "impact"? I hope you
are not suggesting that we break backwards compatibility with S/MIME v2 by
substituting one weak algorithm for another.
