All of these depend on which SASL mechanism is being used. Each SASL
mechanism has an RFC associated with it. See
<http://www.iana.org/assignments/sasl-mechanisms> for a list of the
registered SASL mechanisms and the RFCs which describes what the
challenge and the response should be for each.
