Uh, I'm not sure what exactly you mean by "wrong" or "ambiguous".
Yeah, sending bounces to the 2821.mailfrom may mean that the name is
not the clearest, but I'm not sure that it is wrong.

As far as taking "us" 20 years to discover this, most people I know of
who have been involved in email have know that the 2821.mailfrom is
where bounces are sent and is unrelated to the 2822.From: and
2822.Sender: field for many years.  Maybe this is due to my uucpnet
roots, but I've understood the difference between the from_ and from:
for close to 20 years now.
