Ok, the additional discussion on this text has indicated that John
should leave the text in, as per his preference, with the possible
addition of Mark's "FTP's" text.

Speaking personally (not as editor), I'm slightly inclined to
leave it, simply because dropping of the 1yz text would seem odd
without _some_ comment.  Very slightly, however.
