FYI. We'd like to solicit feedback on this draft.

The model spec'd in this uses SRV RRs mapped to the @domain part of an
email address to discover the submission servers associated with that mail
domain. It does not attempt to locate the servers associated with a
specific subnet, servers in other mail domains, retrieval servers, or
anything else. Instead, it is restricted to servers associated with a
specific mail domain in the theory that those are the servers that the
user is authorized to use (and has an account for, etc).

This document specifies the use of SRV resource records for
locating the message-submission servers associated with a known
mail domain.

Send a message to:
        mailserv(_at_)ietf(_dot_)org(_dot_)
In the body type:
        "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-hall-submit-srv-00.txt".

NOTE: The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
        how to manipulate these messages.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the
Internet-Draft.
