Wi-Fi privacy at IETF and IEEE802 meetings

2015-07-20 00:53:18
As you may remember, we carried out three Wi-Fi privacy experiments at the past
IETF91, IEEE 802 March plenary, and IETF92 meetings. The IEEE has issued a
press release about the experiments and this has created good interest from the
media.

From now on the Wi-Fi privacy network setup will be part of the normal IETF
and IEEE 802 networks, supporting hence users that are running clients with
private MAC addresses.

Below is a list of links to the IEEE press release and some of the related

Also, last week on July 17, IEEE 802 approved a new project to produce a
document describing a privacy threat model and recommendations for IEEE 802
protocol developers, which will eventually become the IEEE 802E specification.
