Mharc is very configurable and hackable, and from my experience, it
should run on any flavor of unix (linux, solaris, bsd, etc...).  It
usually involves tweaking some config files and running the install
scripts.  (It's a little more involved than "emerge --sync".)

That's what I had to do to get my archive working for my site hosted
by dreamhost.com.  It took some wrangling, but the attachment on this
post was what I needed.

I thought I replied to this list with a step-by-step on what I did,
but I can't seem to find it. Maybe I posted it on some dreamhost forum
since it was more related to their services.
