------------------ Additional Follow-up Comments ----------------------------
An alternative, more flexible solution has been implemented
instead that can be used to achieve the same effect. Just
committed into CVS is implementation of a NEWSURL resource,
analogous to the MAILTOURL resource. So, you can do the
following to include a news server host:
<NewsUrl>
news://news.example.com/$NEWSGROUP$
</NewsUrl>
Side Note: The Support facility should now be used to
submit feature requests.
=================== BUG #5643: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT ===================
Submitted by: None Project: MHonArc
Submitted on: Tue 09/30/2003 at 14:44
Category: Resources Severity: 5 - Major
Bug Group: Feature Request Resolution: Fixed
Assigned to: None Status: Open
Platform Version: All Perl Version: N/A
Component Version: N/A Fixed Release: CVS
Summary: New ressource - newsserver
Original Submission: I use MHonArc to archive some local newsgroups on a
newsserver. Local newsgroups on that newsserver are readable by everyone - but
of course just on that server. It should be possible to define the newsserver,
that should be used in News-Headers.
(<a href="news://newsserver/newsgroup">newsgroup</a> instead of just <a
href="news://newsgroup">newsgroup</a>).
See also http://www.mhonarc.org/archive/html/mhonarc-dev/2003-07/msg00001.html,
probably that was not the right mailinglist to suggest a feature-request...
