Is the "NumOfMsgs" available as a Resource variable?

Mhonarc 2.2.0 , Perl 5.004_01

 Is there a resouce variable for the number of messages in an
archive. I wish to put that information on my index pages. I have scoured
the documentation on resources and this does not appear to be an available
recource. 

 I have looked at the source where I find $NumOfMsg program variable
though.
