Hi, is it possible to resume a mknmz session after a system crash? I had a
mknmz process running for days (Indexing a large email archive) until the
server crashed due to a power issue. Is there any way to tell mknmz to
continue were it left off?
If it is executed that -s or -- checkpoint is optional putting it,
the restart is possible in mknmz.
Please execute -S of the execution of last mknmz in addition in
the option.
But,...
If it takes long time to the index making, let's try following.
A. -s or --checkpoint option is removed. (The means to restart
is lost. )
B. The index is divided into plurals.
When there is a large amount of documents
If it is the same number of documents, making the index separately
for plurals shortens making one index and time is shortened.
C. Please increase $ON_MEMORY_MAX of mknmzrc greatly.
The value set to $ON_MEMORY_MAX is not related directly to the
memory size of PC.
The amount of the document treatable at a time increases when
$ON_MEMORY_MAX is increased, and time is shortened.
Of course, it is not because the amount of the consumed memory
increases when $ON_MEMORY_MAX is increased because it can
increase it how much.
Please try.
