Peter noted that readline is GPL, and there are some "BSD-ish"
licensed equivalents available. nmh currently doesn't rely on
any GPL code, as far as I can tell, and I think we should maintain
that.
I'm okay with it being an optional component ... I guess Peter's talking
about editline. AFAIK it presents a readline API as well, so I think
to make use of it we'd just have to do the right magic in autoconf.
