I find that quite clutter-ful, with the []/<> being two characters
to indicate one thing, and the identical subject repeated.

mutt's presentation.  (Like Ken, I liked trn's little context tree
when viewing a single Usenet article.)

How does the Mutt presentation handle the Subject: New subject (was:
old subject) case?

http://i.imgur.com/vK31Pml.png shows the subject changing at 2407.  As
might be expected, the subject is only omitted if it's the same as its
parent's.

Still prefer the MH-E way (perhaps without the []/<> characters) as
well as the folded gnus way.

Happy to let the implementer have the last word though :-).
