I can see the environment of processes owned by 'root' as a plain user
on MacOS X (and that's what I'm familiar with; Linux seems to be the
exception here).
Thanks, interesting. Linux's ps(1) is limited by /proc's file
permissions, Mac OS X's is setuid root to peek through the kernel's
memory, old school, and there's no /proc either.
