From the "Program Names" section of docs/README.manpages:

    In running text, nmh program names should be set in bold,
    unless you are explicitly referring to the command's
    documentation, in which case use manpage cross-reference
    style.

            .B comp
            .BR comp ,
            .IR comp (1).
