(Though this *still* leaves the question of whether the Signature: block needs proper quoting if it contains non-ascii or rfc-problematic punctuation....A brief experiment suggests it's used unaltered in %(myname) and (localmbox), following mh-format(5). How it's then handled depending where they're used...
I'm sure there's places where it's used with following dequoting, and some where it isn't dequoted. And most of the corner cases are going to be in weird user-written stuff that's grown organically over the past few decades. But I meant it more as an example of why a good 'man 5' page is useful. ;)
