Subject: Proposed NIST SHS
To: Parties who may be interested in Digital Signatures
From: Dennis Branstad, NIST Fellow
On January 31, 1992, NIST published in the Federal Register a proposed
Secure Hash Standard (SHS) designed to work with the proposed Digital
Signature Standard (DSS)....
Because of mail limitations, I left off
appendix B which is just a second example and the federal register
solication for comments...
Just wanted to add that there is in fact a third example in an
appendix C--1 million repetitions of the letter 'a'. There is a typo
in the published message digest for this example. It should read:
3232affa 48628a26 653b5aaa 44541fd9 0d690603
^
not a '6'
