(1) A short article in this morning's Washington Post (p. A20) says that
NSA reversed itself and declassified two cryto texts. This was result of
FOIA suit brought by John Gilmore, boared memeber of EFF, Cambridge, MA.
Says that John found the texts in public libararies, and that texts are
used in "military classes".
John, are you still on pem-dev? What are the titles and authors of these texts?
Does anyone remember John's mailbox address? I recall something about gnu
and toad.
(2) There was a rumor in the cafeteria on Wednesday saying 200 NSA
employees had been arrested at work on Monday or Tuesday, charged with
misuse of Government property. The speculation was that they had been
taking home copies of commercial software for personal computers. Any
confirmation?
