Thanks for the background on your earlier message. I am aware
of the "vanilla" UA vs. Pedi UA distinction and to the extent that one
can use the same message security facilities to protect both content
types, I suspect MIME-PEM will address your concerns. My concern is
that we do not modify PEM for use with EDI (in a MIME context) in a
fashion that prevents interoperability with 822-PEM. Our last PEM WG
meeting indicated that there are a number of details that need to be
addressed before we have a good specification on how to use PEM with
MIME, so we have an opportunity to include concerns about how EDI fits
in as well.
