The ASN.1 certificate definition posted by Ken from the final version of
the standard produces an identical BER/DER encoding to the DIS version
which I posted. The final version uses two constructs from the 1993
version of ASN.1: the SIGNED parameterized type replaces the SIGNED macro
(and produces the same SEQUENCE as output), and constraint specification
replaces the ANY DEFINED BY construct in the AlgorithmIdentifier. Both
of these mechanisms seem to lend themselves to automated processing better
than the macro notation. For anyone who is interested, I would hope that
CCITT posts these documents (X.208-1, -2, -3, and -4) to Teledoc once they
are ratified (or whatever CCITT does to them...).
